Privacy Policy

Information we process

Apple or Google sign-in provides an account identifier and available name, email, and profile image. We process the profile information you supply, including a handle, bio, entered location, profile photo, and banner. App features also use listing descriptions, dates, prices, exact sale addresses and coordinates, photos, messages, conversation participants and read status, reports, and blocking records. Preferences, saved-sale information, drafts, and cached photos may be stored on your device.

Public content and messages

Publishing makes your sale’s photos, details, exact address, map location, and displayed host information public. Profile information and uploaded profile images may be visible to others. Do not publish another person’s private address or content without authority. Your sign-in email is not displayed as part of a listing. Messages are available to participants and may be accessed by authorized personnel for support, safety, or legal obligations; they are not end-to-end encrypted. Reports are not publicly displayed.

Location and notifications

With permission, Venta uses device location and heading for maps and nearby discovery. Selected shopping areas and search coordinates may be processed to retrieve nearby sales. This is separate from the public address you publish for a sale. You can select an area manually and change permissions in iPhone Settings. If you enable push notifications, we associate a push token with your account and device environment. Notifications may show the sender, sale title, and message preview on your lock screen; manage previews and permission in iPhone Settings.

Analytics and diagnostics

PostHog measures predefined actions such as app opens, listing views, directions requests, saves, shares, searches, messages sent, and publishing, along with technical app/device information and installation or session identifiers. When signed in, we link events to your Venta account identifier to measure returning users across devices; earlier activity from the same installation may be associated with that account. We reset the analytics identity on sign-out. Events may include listing identifiers, counts, prices, category/filter choices, sign-in status, and the selected shopping city, state, and country. Listing identifiers can be associated with public sale details. This is account-linked usage information, not anonymous data. We do not intentionally send names, emails, message or search text, photos, street addresses, or exact coordinates to PostHog. Automatic text capture and session recording are disabled.

Sentry processes crash and diagnostic information such as stack traces, app versions, operating system and device information, and diagnostic identifiers. Our configuration removes user and request fields and does not attach screenshots, message content, or session recordings. Providers receive network information such as IP addresses when handling requests. We do not sell personal information or use these services for cross-app advertising tracking.

Website and providers

Waitlist signups include email, signup time, and consent to launch emails. Vercel hosts the website; Supabase provides authentication, database, storage, and backend services; PostHog provides analytics; Sentry provides diagnostics; Apple and Google provide chosen sign-in services; Apple provides maps and push delivery. They process information needed for their functions. Hosting and security logs may include IP addresses and request information. External directions and Facebook links open services governed by their own policies. We may disclose information as required by law or to protect people and the service.

Automated content review

Venta uses automated checks to help enforce our Community Guidelines before publication. Sale photo review uses Anthropic, the provider of Claude, as a service provider. Our backend sends image content, normally a reduced-size copy and otherwise the stored image, with review instructions. Images can contain personal information visible in the photo. We do not intentionally attach your account name, email, sale address, or messages as separate fields to this photo-review request. Do not upload sensitive documents or other people’s private information. We use this processing for safety and moderation, not advertising. Listing text, messages, and handles are also subject to rule-based checks within our Supabase backend; this text checker does not send that text to Anthropic.

Venta stores photo review records containing the storage path, allowed or blocked verdict, rule categories, model, and review time. These security records are separate from the stored photos and may remain after a photo is removed; contact us with deletion requests. Automated checks can make mistakes and do not guarantee that all harmful content is detected. Request a second review at findventa@gmail.com, identifying the listing and the problem without sending unnecessary sensitive material.

Anthropic’s commercial API policy does not use inputs and outputs for model training by default; exceptions include an explicit agreement or opted-in feedback. Its retention rules have exceptions for safety, legal obligations, and certain services or agreements. See Anthropic’s retention policy and model-training policy. We do not promise immediate deletion from a provider’s systems.

Imported listings

Sales sourced outside Venta may include authorized sale details, photos, a public sale address, and a source link. Attribution does not mean the host has a Venta account or endorses Venta. Hosts and rights holders can request correction or removal at findventa@gmail.com; include the relevant listing link.

Retention and your choices

We keep account information and content while needed to provide the service. Moving a listing to Deleted is not necessarily permanent erasure. Use Profile → Settings → Delete account and follow the confirmation and reauthentication steps. See deletion details. Waitlist membership is separate; email us to unsubscribe. Limited legal, security, or support records may remain when necessary. Provider backups and logs expire according to their retention settings, not necessarily immediately. Pseudonymous analytics and diagnostics may not be traceable from your account email. Copies saved or shared by others outside Venta are outside our control.

You may browse without an account, edit your profile, manage device permissions, or contact us for access, correction, deletion, and applicable privacy rights. We may verify ownership but never ask for passwords or sign-in codes. Profile export contains profile details, not a full data export.

Security, age eligibility, and changes

We use encrypted connections and access controls, but no service is completely secure. Venta is intended for people aged 16 and older. People under 16 may not use the service. If you are under 18 or the age of legal majority where you live, you may use Venta only under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to our Terms of Use. Contact us if you believe someone under 16 has provided personal information so we can investigate and take appropriate action. Providers may process data in the United States or other countries. Rights depend on applicable law. We will update this policy and provide notice or obtain consent when required.
